Help & Guides

Importing properties
Bring listings in from another website, a feed, or a spreadsheet.
Import from another WordPress site
In most cases you just paste the source site's URL and click Save. When you save, the importer checks the source and — only if something extra is needed — reveals the exact card to fill in. There are three cases it detects:
- Normal — paste the source URL and Save. Nothing to install on the source site.
- The source needs a login (you see a 401/403) — create an Application Password on the SOURCE site (Users → Profile → Application Passwords) and paste it into the card the form reveals.
- The source hides properties from its API (a 404) — install the free ListingKit Connector plugin on the SOURCE site, copy the export key from its Settings → ListingKit Connector page, and paste it into the revealed card. That key is read-only (published listings only), can be regenerated, and stops working the moment the plugin is deactivated.
You never have to guess which case applies — save the URL and the form tells you if anything extra is needed.
Import from a CSV or spreadsheet
Export your listings to CSV, upload the file, and confirm how each column maps to a property field — the importer suggests the mapping for you.
- Go to Property Import and choose “CSV file upload”.
- Upload your file (up to 20 MB — split larger exports into multiple files).
- Confirm the suggested column mapping and fix anything that's wrong.
- Start the import.
XML files and live XML feeds (Kyero, Resales-Online, Property Finder) work the same way and are auto-detected.
Install the ListingKit Connector plugin
The Connector links a WordPress site to ListingPress.
- On the DESTINATION site (where properties get published): install the plugin and connect it to your ListingPress account.
- On a SOURCE site that hides its properties from the API: install the same plugin and copy its export key (Settings → ListingKit Connector) into the import form.
Low-resource mode (for weak shared hosting)
If your host is slow or times out during imports, turn on Low-resource mode. It imports in smaller, gentler batches so shared hosting doesn't choke.
How large imports run — batches, schedules, and Stop
Imports run in small background batches so a big catalog never overwhelms your site.
- Each run processes a batch and continues automatically until it's finished.
- On paid plans you can schedule recurring syncs (hourly, twice a day, or daily).
- Use Stop to halt an import — it stays stopped until you choose to continue it.
Publishing to WordPress
Connect your WordPress site
ListingPress publishes to your site using a WordPress Application Password — a revocable key, never your main login.
- Open Account → Website connection and follow the connect steps.
- It creates/uses an Application Password scoped to publishing.
- You can disconnect any time from the same screen, which revokes access.
AI descriptions
AI-rewritten descriptions & credits
AI rewriting turns each imported description into unique, SEO-friendly copy, so search engines don't flag it as duplicated portal text.
- Free plans include a lifetime allowance of AI rewrites.
- When it runs out, imports simply continue with the original text — or you can top up with a credit pack.
- Paid plans include unlimited rewriting.
Sharing, leads & brochures
Create a property brochure (PDF)
Turn any listing into a print-ready, two-page PDF brochure.
- Set your brand once on the Account page (logo, accent colour, job title).
- Open a listing, click Brochure, pick a style, and Download PDF.
- The brochure pulls the photos, price and details straight from the listing.
